Robert Armstrong is an American underground artist. He contributed to several comic book anthologies such as The New American Splendor Anthology, Weirdo, Arcade Comics, Mondo Snarfo, Yellow Dog Comics and El Perfecto. His most famous creation is 'Mickey Rat', of which four comix appeared in 1972 (two issues), 1980 and 1982. Besides a comix artist and illustrator, Armstrong is a musician. He has composed the soundtracks to several films and is the singer of Robert Crumb's band, The Cheap Suit Serenaders. He was also founder of the Couch Potatoes and does terrific fine art painting on electric guitars.
